Australia eVisitor Visa Eligibility: Full Country List & Requirements
Not every traveller can use the eVisitor. Eligibility for the Australia eVisitor (Subclass 651) is based entirely on the passport you hold, so before you start an application it is worth confirming your country is on the list and knowing what you will need to have ready.
Which countries are eligible for the eVisitor?
The eVisitor is available to passport holders from the following countries: Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and Vatican City.
If your passport was issued by one of these countries, you can apply for your eVisitor visa online. If it was not, you may need a different authorisation — see our guide on eVisitor vs ETA to understand the alternatives.
Other eligibility requirements
Holding an eligible passport is the starting point, but applicants also need to meet a few general conditions. You must be outside Australia when you apply, you must intend a genuine visit for tourism or business, and you must meet standard health and character requirements. You should also have enough means to support yourself during your stay.
What you will need to apply
Keep your valid passport close at hand, along with an email address you check regularly. The form asks for your personal details exactly as they appear in your passport, your contact information and some questions about your background and travel plans. Checking every detail before submitting is the single best way to avoid delays.
Dual nationals and passport changes
If you hold more than one passport, apply with the passport you will actually travel on, because your authorisation is linked to that specific document. If you renew your passport before your trip, your authorisation will not carry over automatically, so plan to apply again with your new passport details.
